Music & Art Students Travel to NYC

Posted Date: 04/22/26 (03:12 PM)

On April 18, a group of RS/ODY music, band, and art students had the opportunity to participate in an enriching educational trip to New York City. The experience provided students with valuable exposure to the arts, culture, and architecture of one of the world’s most dynamic cities.

While in the city, students began their day with a guided bus tour, where they explored notable neighborhoods and observed a variety of architectural styles that reflect the city’s rich history and development. This portion of the trip allowed students to make meaningful connections between their classroom learning and real-world design and artistic expression.

Following the tour, the group attended the acclaimed Broadway production of Hadestown. This live performance offered students an immersive experience in musical theater, showcasing exceptional talent in acting, music, set design, and storytelling.

In addition to these structured activities, students also had the opportunity to explore iconic locations such as Times Square and Bryant Park. These visits allowed them to experience the vibrant energy of the city while engaging with its cultural landmarks.

This memorable and educational trip was made possible through the support of an Arts in Education grant, which provided students with access to opportunities that enhance creativity, cultural awareness, and appreciation for the arts.
