The 2026 National History Day (NHD) theme is "Revolution, Reaction, Reform in History," commemorating the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. The theme encourages exploring how people challenge established orders and the resulting societal shifts, ranging from the American Revolution to civil rights, technological changes, and beyond. Eighth grader, Emmett Allred, advanced to the regional level competition where he earned first place in the documentary category. He created a documentary about The Bolshevik (Russian) Revolution. Emmett will now advance to the state level on April 26th at SUNY Oneonta. Congratulations, Emmett!
