I WOULD LIKE TO TAKE THIS OPPORTUNITY TO INTRODUCE MYSELF AS THE SCHOOL COUNSELOR AT RICHFIELD SPRINGS CENTRAL SCHOOL. I WILL BE SERVING AS THE SCHOOL COUNSELOR FOR ALL K-7TH GRADE STUDENTS. AS THE SCHOOL COUNSELOR, MY PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY IS TO PROMOTE AND SUPPORT THE ACADEMIC, PERSONAL/SOCIAL, AND CAREER NEEDS OF ALL MY STUDENTS. I WILL BE MEETING WITH STUDENTS INDIVIDUALLY, IN A SMALL GROUP, FACILITATING CLASSROOM GUIDANCE, AND COLLABORATING WITH TEACHERS, PARENTS AND ADMINISTRATORS. IN ADDITION, I ATTEND AND PARTICIPATE IN ACADEMIC INTERVENTION MEETINGS WHILE RESPONDING TO ANY SCHOOL CRISIS OR EMERGENCY SITUATIONS WITHIN THE SCHOOL. RECENTLY, I BECAME THE NON-VIOLENT CRISIS PREVENTION INSTRUCTOR AND COORDINATOR FOR THE BACKPACK PROGRAM AT RICHFIELD SPRINGS SCHOOL. SINCE 2011, I HAVE WORKED AS A SCHOOL COUNSELOR FOR HERKIMER BOCES IN A VARIETY OF SPECIAL EDUCATION PROGRAMS. "I'VE ALWAYS ENJOYED WORKING WITH CHILDREN AND MAKING A DIFFERENCE IN THEIR LIVES." I RECEIVED MY BACHELOR DEGREE FROM SUNY INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY, WHERE I MAJORED IN PSYCHOLOGY. UPON GRADUATING, I WENT ON TO OBTAIN A MASTER DEGREE IN GUIDANCE AND COUNSELING ALONG WITH AN EDUCATION SPECIALIST DEGREE IN GUIDANCE COUNSELING FROM THE UNIVERSITY OF WEST ALABAMA'S ONLINE PROGRAMS. IN MY SPARE TIME, I ENJOY LONG DISTANCE RUNNING, WORKING OUT AT CROSSFIT MOHAWK VALLEY, READING, TRAVELING, CAMPING, AND SPENDING TIME WITH MY FRIENDS, AND FAMILY.

I have high hopes and great expectations for a successful year!!!
