I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself as the School Counselor at Richfield Springs Central School. I will be serving as the School Counselor for all K-7th grade students. As the School Counselor, my primary responsibility is to promote and support the academic, personal/social, and career needs of all my students. I will be meeting with students individually, in a small group, facilitating classroom guidance, and collaborating with teachers, parents and administrators. In addition, I attend and participate in academic intervention meetings while responding to any school crisis or emergency situations within the school. Recently, I became the Non-Violent Crisis Prevention Instructor and Coordinator for the BackPack Program at Richfield Springs School. Since 2011, I have worked as a school counselor for Herkimer BOCES in a variety of Special Education Programs. "I've always enjoyed working with children and making a difference in their lives." I received my Bachelor Degree from SUNY Institute of Technology, where I majored in Psychology. Upon graduating, I went on to obtain a Master Degree in Guidance and Counseling along with an Education Specialist Degree in Guidance Counseling from the University of West Alabama's online programs. In my spare time, I enjoy long distance running, working out at CrossFit Mohawk Valley, reading, traveling, camping, and spending time with my friends, and family.

I have high hopes and great expectations for a successful year!!!

Ms. Ambrose
